Enology (also spelled oenology) is the science and study of wine and winemaking. Enologists oversee the entire scope of wine production.

Viticulture
Viticulture (from the Latin for vine) is the science, production and study of grapes—especially for winemaking.
It encompasses the series of agricultural events that occur in the vineyard and is a branch of horticulture. It includes activities such as clone selection, planting the vines, fruit set, veraison, canopy management, field studies in fruit development and balance, harvest and maintenance of the vineyard during winter months. Careers include vineyard manager/worker, equipment manager/operator, GIS mapping, grower relations manager and more.
Enology
Enology (also spelled oenology) is the science and study of wine and winemaking.
Enologists oversee the entire scope of wine production, beginning with harvest through crush, fermentation, filtering, aging and bottling. Enologists create new wine blends and implement techniques to enhance the winemaking process. Enologists may take on different roles depending on the size of the vineyard. They may work in the vineyard or be a part of the sales team as needed. Careers include winemaker, assistant winemaker, production assistants, lab manager/technician, cellar master, harvest coordinator and more.
Wine Business & Hospitality
Wine business follows the supply and value chains from vineyard selection to winemaking to sales and distribution.
If you aspire to be a vineyard owner, wine producer or wish to distribute and sell wine through a tasting room or other avenues, this knowledge is critical to your winery’s success.
