School of Hotel and Tourism Management
The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is located in Hong Kong – the world’s most exciting city, and top international tourism and culinary destination.
In 2022, SHTM was rated No. 1 in the world in the “Hospitality and Tourism Management” category according to ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. In 2021/2022, they placed No. 1 globally in the “Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services” category in the University Ranking by Academic Performance. It has also ranked No. 1 in the world in the “Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism” subject area by the CWUR Rankings by Subject. At the SHTM, nearly 1,500 students are guided by a strong international team of 90+ academics with diverse cultural backgrounds who possess more than 400 years of hospitality or tourism industry experience. The SHTM is housed in its own complex with its teaching and research hotel, Hotel ICON, which integrates teaching, learning and research in a full-service environment, In 2012, the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education bestowed its McCool Breakthrough Award on the SHTM in recognition of its breakthrough in the form of Hotel ICON – the heart of the School’s innovative approach to hospitality and tourism education.

Scholarships
International Wine Management Scholarship
This entry scholarship is targeted at qualified MSc in International Wine Management program students who demonstrate a high level of academic merit, honors and awards. Other selection criteria include non-academic achievements. Applicants should complete the application form and return it to the School before the stipulated deadline.
Drore Scholarship
This entry scholarship is primarily targeted to applicants who excel in both academic and non-academic pursuits.
SHTM Academic Excellence Scholarship
This entry scholarship is targeted at candidates with outstanding academic performance in their undergraduate studies and/or success in internationally recognized standardized tests (e.g., TOEFL and GMAT/GRE). Applicants should complete the application form and return it to the School before the stipulated deadline.
SHTM Executive Development Scholarship
This entry scholarship is primarily targeted to applicants who have accumulated substantial (at least 5 years) industry experience. Applicants should complete the application form and return it to the School before the stipulated deadline.
Service Scholarship
The MSc Service Scholarship is offered to the SHTM’s enrolled MSc students. The value of the scholarship is up to HKD20,000, and awardees are expected to carry out up to 200 hours of service to the School in the areas of school activities, administration, research, or designated office duties. Students will be informed of the application procedure when they are successfully admitted to the program concerned.
